An Evening Conversation with Jennifer Wiseman: "Our Place in the Cosmos"

Greetings from The Trinity Forum!

On behalf of The Trinity Forum and the Church of the Advent, I am delighted to invite you to an Evening Conversation with astronomer Jennifer Wiseman! Please join us on Thursday, May 31 at the University Club in Washington, DC for what promises to be a fascinating conversation surrounding what science and faith have to tell us about the awe-inspiring vastness of our universe, and our place within it.

This is the first Evening Conversation in a three-part series entitled "Science & Faith in Conversation: Our Place, Self, and Soul" and sponsored by the Templeton Foundation "Scientists in Congregations" Initiative.

  ross

Jennifer Wiseman is an astronomer and Director of the Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She is the Senior Project Scientist for the Hubble Space Telescope at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, where she previously headed the Laboratory for Exoplanets and Stellar Astrophysics. Wiseman is interested in promoting positive dialogue on the relationship of science, spirituality, and faith. She has given numerous talks on the excitement of astronomy and scientific discovery. She has also authored several essays addressing the relationship of astronomy and Christian faith.

We hope you will join us for wine, hors d'oeuvres, and conversation at the University Club. Please register here.

When: Thursday, May 31, 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Where: The University Club, 1135 Sixteenth Street NW, Washington, DC 20036

For many, the DC area is a transitory place. Whether people in your congregational family are moving down the block or across the world, changing jobs or doing home improvements, helping people through transitions is a frequent ministry in most of our communities. In addition to many personal helping hands, some have email listserves, and a handful of local congregations have public online classifieds to facilitate the process. Please leave a comment if there are any others not included.
