The Imani Temple on Capitol Hill (611 Maryland Ave. NE) is hosting a Jazz Concert Series this fall in collaboration with MSquare Entertainment, showcasing DC's top jazz performers, musicians and vocalists. This monthly community event was created to build relationships amongst the community's worship centers, promote community fellowshipping, provide a new venue for local jazz artists, and bring good entertainment to Capitol Hill. The Imani Temple invites individuals and congregations to come and enjoy the arts.
The next show is this Friday, October 22 from 7-10pm. Amazing Washingtonian saxophonist Russell Lyles will play with his quintet.
Future events include November 19, jazz singer Denyse Pearson, whose style is reminiscent of the great Sarah Vaughn. December 17 is the Imani Showcase, where members of the Imani Temple community perform, and December 19th, the Urban Philharmonic Society performs Handel's Messiah.
