SOME (So Others Might Eat), in partnership with the Corcoran College of Art and Design, local potters and restaurants, will host our two annual Empty Bowls soup suppers this March. Please join us! The events will take place on Tuesday, March 6 at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in NW, DC and Wednesday, March 14 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Arlington, VA. Both events will be from 6pm-8pm.
Empty Bowls is an opportunity for community members of all ages to gather for an evening of food, fun and friendship. The events promote awareness about hunger in the Metro area and raise funds for SOME’s meal programs, which help to feed more than 1,000 hungry and homeless men, women, and children each day. Guests are invited to choose a beautiful handcrafted soup bowl made by local potters and enjoy a simple supper of soup, bread, and dessert donated by local restaurants. Once the meal is finished, the bowl is yours to take home. It will serve as a powerful reminder that many among us go to bed hungry on a daily basis.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online in advance or at the door. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please contact Megan Gannon at mgannon@some.org.
We are in need of volunteers to help run the event and clean-up from 5:15pm-9pm on both dates. If you able to volunteer during this time, please contact Ingrid Feigenbaum at ifeigenbaum@some.org
